Klinik Mata Nusantara, has rapidly developed into the leading provider of quality eye care services in Indonesia. With Dr. Sjakon G. Tahija as Klinik Mata Nusantara principal founder, the first clinic was opened in Jakarta on June 16, 2004 with the objective of providing first class eye care with world class services and facilities to patients in Indonesia. This Clinic was well received and a second clinic was opened in Jakarta in November 2005. KMN opened its third clinic November 2007 in Manado on the island of Sulawesi. Community reception to KMN clinics has been very strong with high patient numbers and patient satisfaction achieved continuously since the opening of the first clinic. KMN has currently treated over 190 000 patients and is equipped with state-of-art equipment for phacoemulsification, vitrectomy and LASIK. Over the coming years, KMN plans to open additional facilities in other major cities throughout Indonesia.

The Lions Eye Institute, located in Perth, Western Australia and headed by Prof. Ian J. Constable, is the largest eye research institute in the southern hemisphere. LEIʼs research teams lead the world investigating cataract, diabetes, glaucoma, retinal degenerations, artificial cornea and laser and gene therapies. Annually, Lions Eye Institute provides specialist clinical services to 40,000 patients from throughout Australia and the world. LEIʼs internationally renowned surgeons perform around 3000 complex eye operations annually. Ophthalmologists abroad seek specialty medical training at LEI and return to their own locale with a higher level of skill.
Iladevi Cataract and IOL Research Centre (ICIRC), located in India and headed by Dr. Abhay R. Vasavada, has facilities for research in morphological study, fluorescent microscopy, immunocytochemistry, protein chemistry, tissue culture and related disciplines. ICIRC has undertaken a number of research projects on the role of Cytosolic (Ca++) in cataractogenesis, oxidative stress and cataract, study on pediatric cataract, posterior capsular opacification and black cataracts, hormones and the eye, biochemistry and molecular biology of the capsule.
